Content moderation policy
How we keep the Noptia community safe, fair and relevant.
Last updated: 19 Sep 2026
1. What we moderate
We moderate all user-generated content published on the platform: guest reviews, photos, property descriptions and any comments or responses from owners and agencies.
Only guests who actually made a booking can leave a review on a property. Each review shows the community score and the owner's response, when available — so the opinions you read are genuine.
2. Rejected content
The following types of content are rejected or removed without notice:
- spam, promotional content or links to other websites;
- hate speech, discrimination, threats, harassment or obscene language;
- personal data of third parties (full names, phone numbers, addresses, emails) published without consent;
- fake or fabricated reviews, including reviews written by the property owner or its staff, or reviews intended to harm a competitor;
- content unrelated to the property or the stay;
- phishing attempts, malicious links or any content that endangers users' security.
3. How moderation is applied
Moderation combines automated checks and human review. Automated filters detect spam, links, profanity and obvious rule violations. The remaining content is checked by our moderation team before publishing, usually within a few hours.
When content is rejected, the author is notified and can submit a corrected version or contest the decision (see section 4).
4. Right to appeal
If you believe your content was removed by mistake, you can appeal within 30 days by contacting us through the contact page — mention the content, the date it was published or rejected, and why you consider the decision incorrect.
Our team re-reviews the case and responds within 5 working days. If we confirm the removal, we explain the exact rule that was violated.
5. Report content
You can report content that violates these rules by using the contact form with the subject "Moderation report". Please include the link to the content and a short description of the rule violation. Reports can be submitted anonymously and we take every report seriously.
